How do we know if our students are learning? American Samoa Department of Education (ASDOE) assessment system is an important part of the answer.

Assessment is a tool for measuring what students know and what they can do. American Samoa’s assessment system shows how knowledgeable a student is on a particular area or subject according to American Samoa educational standards. Assessment is part of providing an excellent education for every student every day.

Island-wide assessment ensures that families, teachers, administrators, and community leaders can see how students perform across the Island. The information gathered from assessments helps guide policy decisions, curriculum selection, professional learning for teachers and staff, instructional decisions, and parent support recommendations. ASDOE Standards is dedicated to providing effective, accessible, and equitable assessment to best serve the needs of all American Samoa students.
